A Letter from the Director of Corporate & Foundation Relations

Dear honored and valued readers,

As the Director of Corporate and Foundation Relations (CFR) for Providence College, I am proud to launch our first newsletter to external partners. As stated in the “Welcome” section, the Office of CFR secures funding from corporations and foundations to support the institutional priorities of the college and manages philanthropic relationships with our foundation and corporate partners. To that end, I wish to detail some of the projects we’ve been working on and show the impact of your generosity.

  1. As of July 2, 2024, the CFR team has begun issuing weekly announcements to the PC community on foundation funding opportunities made possible with either a letter of inquiry (LOI) or a request for funding proposal (RFP).
  2. We launched our inaugural CFR newsletter to shine a light on funding secured for various PC initiatives and to show the impact these funds make within the PC community.
  3. We continue to collaborate with our colleagues in the Offices of Athletics, College Events, and Planned Giving to coordinate meaningful, on-campus events for external donors and partners to attend. This maximizes the visibility of our students’ skills, faculty’s academic achievements, and new programming and construction on campus.
  4. Through communications like these, we aim to introduce you to our team, provide opportunities to liaise with us, and collaborate on programs and initiatives that best lift the profile of your organization and that of the college.

When acknowledging our partnerships with corporate and foundation partners, we plan to highlight one or two partnerships per newsletter, but in no way are we playing favorites. The PC community is grateful to each of you for your commitment and generosity to the college. As I begin my second year as Director of Corporate and Foundation Relations — having moved from South Florida in May 2023 — I was afforded the chance to grow the CFR team. These initiatives would not be possible without the ongoing help of my current team of Katie Davenport, assistant director of Corporate and Foundation Relations; Daniel Flores Santiago, senior office assistant, Planned & Estate Giving and Corporate and Foundation Relations; and Greg Assad, graduate assistant, Corporate and Foundation Relations. Each member of the team is talented and enthusiastic in strengthening existing partnerships and in their desire to establish new ones. I welcome the opportunity to introduce you to each of them and myself on your next visit to PC.

Finally, as part of the college, we aim to highlight activities happening around campus through a “Save the Date” section of the newsletter. Our goal is to showcase the wonderful efforts of our students, faculty, and staff. We know the best way to do that is to share an assortment of upcoming, on-campus events and invite you to attend them. Your investment in Providence College makes this possible. Please enjoy reading through the newsletter, feel free to provide your feedback, and thank you once again for your philanthropy and partnerships.

Kindest regards… and go Friars!
