A Letter from the Director
As I enter my 25th year in the nonprofit sector, I continue to be overwhelmed to learn of and interact with those corporate and foundation funders who give to causes greater than themselves. In this newsletter, we will highlight ever-growing partnerships with Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Rhode Island, the Rhode Island Foundation, Lilly Endowment Inc., and the Lilly Network of Church-Related Colleges and Universities.
Each of these organizations has decided to partner with Providence College to help our students thrive in academics, athletics, and professional opportunities; to help us strengthen our partnerships with the Diocese of Providence and St. Pius V, the College’s neighboring school and parish, for improved prayer & outreach within the greater Providence community; and to establish sturdier ties within our faculty as they examine how faith and academics can intersect and improve discourse throughout our campus.
The decision to give is always wrapped in whether that gift should be one of faith, volunteerism, wisdom, or money. Whether you have given to faith-based organizations, higher education, shelters that provide protection to the disenfranchised or abused, initiatives that work on medical miracles, or policies that create opportunities for those less fortunate, your decision to make the gift not only helped your selected causes but assuredly made a profound impact in your own life, too. Please know that your generosity is a game changer. Thank you for your belief in Providence College’s mission and the countless lives you collectively impact.
With continued gratitude,
Frank Saavedra
