Faculty

Investment in academics supports our world-class faculty — passionate scholars and educators who push the frontiers of knowledge. Their impactful research creates a curricular framework that responds to today’s issues and anticipates tomorrow’s questions. When we empower our faculty, we extend our national reach and reputation and prepare our graduates to thrive. New endowed faculty positions fuel our efforts to attract and retain the eminent scholars essential to our continuing ascendancy as a distinguished academic institution.

Emerging Technologies and Culture Center

A liberating education encourages students to seek information creatively, use emerging technologies thoughtfully, and apply results ethically. The Emerging Technologies and Culture Center will promote effective and responsible use of new technology by elevating teaching and scholarship in technology-based quantitative disciplines and connecting that work to all areas of study. A new facility will be equipped with tech-forward teaching and collaboration spaces, including an Applied Analytics Lab and a Numeracy Learning Lab.

SCHOOL OF NURSING AND HEALTH SCIENCES

The Ben Mondor Center for Nursing and Health Sciences will provide state of the art teaching and learning spaces for the School of Nursing and Health Sciences. Initiatives include establishing the St. Martin de Porres Center for Health and Human Dignity, which will focus on ethical healthcare delivery; launching cutting-edge research labs for human performance; and introducing immersive opportunities to promote learning beyond the classroom.

EXPERIENTIAL LEARNING

We will increase access to high-impact experiential learning opportunities — internships, research, and service-learning — and lower barriers to participation so more students may benefit from these experiences. Also, student experiences focused on personal identity exploration, such as study abroad programs, will broaden perspectives and cultivate global competency.

CATHOLIC AND DOMINICAN PARTNERSHIPS

The Claverie Fellows Program will aid students seeking meaning and a connection with God by fostering a year-long exploration of faith. Students will explore questions related to spirituality in an intellectually stimulating environment that prioritizes fellowship in its approach to religious dialogue. We will also enhance immersive opportunities away from campus that are woven into PC’s Dominican roots, like short-term learning and service experiences and Smith Fellowships for Study and Service Abroad.

In today’s world, the cost of college continues to rise and giving back is our way of ensuring others experience what we have.

I feel a tremendous sense of loyalty to the college which has greatly influenced my life. I am also impressed by Father Sicard’s leadership in the health sciences, which will allow PC to capitalize further on the outstanding science programs that we currently offer students.
