National Alumni Association Election

May 2026

Greetings Providence College Alumni:

It is a privilege to present to you the candidates for executive vice president for election to the 2026-27 Providence College National Alumni Association Council. As the association’s president-elect and chair of the nominating committee, I am delighted that these accomplished, committed, and enthusiastic alumni have come forward as candidates.

As part of the election process, we asked each candidate to supply biographical information, including details about how they have remained connected to Providence College. The candidates also provided a reflection on the association’s mission and their thoughts on how they will serve the alumni population if elected.

Ballots have been distributed to all alumni who have donated any amount to Providence College during the immediate past or current fiscal year. All ballots are due no later than June 4, 2026, and the results will be announced and posted on our alumni web page in July.

My sincerest thanks to the two candidates for their leadership and interest in continuing to serve Providence College.

“How will your candidacy help promote the mission of the National Alumni Association?”

I am honored to be nominated for VP of the National Alumni Association. As a member of the Class of 2007, Providence College shaped not only my education and career, but also my personal life (it’s where I met my husband, also class of ’07!). Today we’re raising two future Friars who are already growing up immersed in the same traditions and values that mean so much to us.

For more than ten years, I have proudly served on the Greater Providence (Mal Brown) alumni club, where I have had the opportunity to engage alumni across generations, professions, and backgrounds. Through planning events, fostering connections, and encouraging alumni participation, I have seen firsthand the power of the PC network and the importance of maintaining strong ties between alumni and the College. I believe my experience and long-standing commitment to volunteer leadership will allow me to help further the National Alumni Association’s mission of building lifelong engagement among alumni.

If elected, I hope to continue promoting awareness of the incredible work PC is doing – from academic innovation and student opportunities to alumni achievements and community impact. I am excited about continuing my commitment to PC on this national scale to help alumni to reconnect, network, and support the future of the College for generations to come.

“How will your candidacy help promote the mission of the National Alumni Association?”

One of the mission items for the NAA is to “strengthen and advance the distinctive Dominican and Catholic identity of the College,” which resonates deeply with me, as it shapes both my academic work and how I live as a mother, educator, and member of this community.

I grew in my faith at PC through Catholic Social Thought and by seeing it lived out—at Feinstein, through Habitat over Spring Break, and during my first days volunteering in Smith Hill with Urban Action, where I met my son’s future Godmother. Each of us, Catholic or not, is shaped by the spirit of this place—one that values kindness, service, and respect for others’ authentic selves. I strive not only to live a life of veritas, but to meet people where they are, find common ground, and foster a true sense of brotherhood and sisterhood.

In my years volunteering at PC, I’ve been struck by the shared connection across alumni—from the Class of 1971 to 2021 (and 2001, like me). While our experiences differ, our love for PC unites us. When you picture PC, do you see yourself smiling, friends beside you on Slavin steps? I do. It’s that shared sense of joy and belonging that makes this community so special. If elected, I would build on that connection—championing both those who may have felt marginalized and those whose greatest joys were found here.

PC changed my life trajectory. I carry that gratitude with me and would be honored to empower our FOLD alumni as the next generation of leaders—ensuring the Friar spirit continues to thrive.
