Providentia Impact Grants

Providence College is pleased to offer yearly grant competitions to the campus community through the Providentia Endowed Fund. The impact grants fund initiatives up to $10,000.

Potential Areas of Support

We seek to fund one-year maximum initiatives. Projects and programs might include summer internships, global education opportunities, faculty and student research, speakers and special programs, women’s athletics, mentorship opportunities, and leadership development initiatives. This is simply a list of examples; applicants are welcome to propose initiatives that go beyond the scope of these initial ideas.

Eligibility & Criteria

Any member of the Providence College community, including faculty, staff, students, and student organizations may apply.

The Leadership Committee will be guided by the following pillars:

  • Enhancement of leadership skills
  • Amplification of women’s voices and experiences
  • Access to programs and opportunities that inspire participation in a full range of academic and career pursuits
  • Increased connection among alumnae and Providence College

The Providentia Endowed Fund was established to empower and encourage alumnae and their supporters in their pursuit to elevate and amplify women’s voices at Providence College. While the fund was established to celebrate the legacy and contributions of women in our community, we are committed to upholding the principles of equity and inclusion as outlined in Title IX and in accordance with the College’s Non-Discrimination Policy. Therefore, in accordance with Title IX, grant proposals must be open to all eligible individuals regardless of sex.

All applications submitted will be reviewed by a member of the Office of Institutional Advancement and shared with the Providentia Leadership Committee for consideration.

Timeline & Budget

The Providentia Leadership Committee will review all grants and a select a few finalists who will be required to present to the Providentia Leadership Committee for final approval in fall 2026.

Grant applications selected for funding will have an opportunity to utilize funds between October 2026 – May 2027. All funded grants will be required to present to the Providentia Society on the impact and outcome of the grant funding in April 2027.

The Providentia Leadership Committee will fund 3-6 grants each year, up to $10,000 PER grant.

Examples of allowable budget items include supplies, speaker fees/honorariums, small equipment, software, consulting services, travel, food, registration, event venues, and faculty/student stipends, if appropriate.

Agreement
By submitting this application, all grant applicants listed understand that funding will be awarded after the finalists have been selected by the Providentia Leadership Committee following the October 3, 2025 presentations. Funding must be utilized before the end of May 2026 and adhere to all Providence College policies and procedures.
